The brief

The group's hotels needed accurate, auditable measurement of the bookings made through their booking engine: Facebook ads measured at campaign level, the full booking path visible in GA4, and booking value reported in Thai baht only.

What we did

One measurement plan, with the same data sent to every platform.

  1. A standard measurement plan and data layer
Shared by every hotel in the group and mapped to the booking funnel
  2. eCommerce tracking on the booking engine
Each room and rate is one product, from view_item to purchase, with a transaction_id to prevent double counting
  3. Cross-domain tracking and THB currency
The website and booking engine are linked, and GA4 and the Facebook Pixel report in the same currency
  4. Testing and reconciliation
Every event checked in GTM Preview, GA4 DebugView and Meta Test Events, then reconciled with the booking engine's own reports

Results

Bookings are now measured in both GA4 and Facebook, all in Thai baht, so ROAS can be judged on real booking value. Sales that cross from the website to the booking engine are credited to the right channel instead of showing up as Referral, and GA4 matches the booking engine's own reports, ready for management meetings.

These results are this client's own and depend on product, market and budget. Results vary by business and are not guaranteed.
